Getting so big...our 15-month-old

We can't get over all the new things Benjamin has been learning, such as...

...stirring and mixing things in a bowl (must be all that time spent watching Mom work in the kitchen!)

...climbing in and out of his chair, with the constant reminder of "sit down"

...finger painting and coloring (Mom is so excited about future art projects!)

Benjamin has also been adding a number of words to his vocabulary. He says (or has his own words for) hot, water, toast, milk, down, up, outside, truck, motorcycle, bye-bye, hi, more, please, Dada, Mama, music, "B-I-B-L-E," ball, bus, again, all done... It's been exciting as he's been able to communicate more and more. It always amazes us how much of what we say, he understands. Can you tell we're a little proud of him?! =)

Visitors

We had a good weekend with Uncle Ken, Aunt Mary, and Grandma. They helped us with a lot of outside work that was long overdue. Thanks!

Cuddling with Great-Grandma and Daddy

If you guys would just listen to me, I could tell you how to get the wheel on!

Time for a drink break.

Suddenly summer

We've had four consecutive days of 95+ degree heat here. Before this, I don't think we'd even reached 80. So, Aunt Mary and Uncle Ken bought Benjamin a pool while they were visiting this weekend. He loves it!

Here we are filling up the pool. Mom foolishly didn't put me in my suit--I was soaked!

Now that I have my suit on, I'm just standing here.

I did sit down and splash around, eventually.

Okay, I've had enough.

Time to investigate that pile of dirt Aunt Mary left lying on the ground!

Corn on the cob!

What is this strange thing you're trying to make me eat?

Hmmm, not too bad.

I'll try doing it myself now.

It's much easier this way!

Sharing a snack with Dad, my new favorite food--cherries! I must take after my mom!

Earning Frequent Flyer Miles

We recently flew to Missouri to see David graduate. We did a lot of driving and saw a lot of people in short amount of time. Benjamin was a great little traveler, and was happy as long as Mom was in site and didn't appear to be leaving.

Congrats, Uncle David!

That tickles!

Visiting Great-Grandma...

...and cousin Jacob. The trip wouldn't have been complete without seeing him play baseball! Thanks for dragging out your season for us!

Posing with my godfathers after a trip to the zoo.

Fun at Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Sarah's...so many DVDs, so little time!

Wow! They have pots and pans, too!

Bath time in the sink!

Cape Cod

This past week, we traveled to Cape Cod for a pastor's conference. It was nice to get away, even if it did rain half the time we were there! (Sound like another trip to Cape Cod, Aunt Marilyn and Jacob?) It stopped long enough one afternoon for us to get out and explore a nearby state park. This was on the ocean side, and, as you can see, the waves were huge! We saw some surfers braving the freezing waters.

In case you were wondering, Grandpa, yes, it was cold!

Daffodils

These photos were taken at a state park along the coast, not too far from our house.

Aren't we done with the picture yet?! I was trying to explore!

We went with an older couple from church. Benjamin had to "borrow" the cane while the adults rested and watched a man try to get his kite in the air. Not too sure he understand the concept of a cane yet!

I love exploring in my backpack!
