Just for Uncle David

Hey, at least the bat is Cardinals!

Singing?

Yes, this is how Benjamin sings. He enjoys joining in all of the hymns in church. Everyone in church turns around to smile at him. He sits there, and has to hold a hymnal or bulletin while he's singing.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

The squinting is Benjamin's new way of "smiling" for the camera.

The tool bench was definitely a hit!

"How old are you?"
"Two in February!"

Got it out on the first try!

Surprise!

We had a surprise visitor this past weekend. My sister flew in from Colorado to surprise Benjamin and me. We were so excited! Friday night she showed up at a musical Jonathan and I were going to. (Jonathan had dropped her off right before he picked me up.) I was shocked! All weekend Benjamin kept saying, "Aunt Rachel's here." He'd have a huge grin on his face while he said it. He's a little depressed since she left. Tonight he wanted to check outside, in case Aunt Rachel might be here. He keeps saying, "Aunt Rachel's not here yet."

Saturday afternoon we went for a hike at a state park.

Benjamin spent about half the time in the backpack, and the other half walking.

Benjamin was fascinated by this puppet!

Thanks for the great surprise, Aunt Rachel!

Happy Birthday, a little early

While down in Florida, Benjamin got to celebrate his birthday. He was really into the cake and present-opening! This time we heard, "Might be golf clubs!" for every present he opened.

Another ball--yes!

This time it really is golf clubs!

Swimming and other sports...

We visited Aunt Mary and Uncle Ken's new Florida house. Here's some shots from the pool.

As long as it involves a ball, Benjamin is game!

Fun at the Beach!

We just got back from visiting Grandma and Grandpa in Florida a few days ago. Here are a few shots from the beach. We fondly thought of all those up north freezing! =)

Heart to heart with Mom. "Why don't we live in Florida all the time? The beach is so much fun!"

Helping Grandpa get water from the ocean.

Never mind! You can do it yourself, Grandpa--the water's too cold!
