Memorial Day weekend

We had a busy Memorial Day weekend.  Friday night, we went to Valparasio to visit some Connecticut friends.  Two of them ran in a 5K, and then we listened to some live music and saw fireworks.  This was Paul's first positive experience with fireworks.  He's been terrified of them before this!  Saturday, we had two birthday parties.  Sunday, we had an anniversary party and two Confirmation parties.  Monday, Jonathan golfed, and then we went hung out at our friends' house and helped them initiate their pool for the summer!

Benjamin just taught himself how to do a flip last night for the first time!

Grandma and Grandpa visit

Grandma and Grandpa came from Florida for a week-long visit in May.  David was also able to come for part of the time.  It was a very busy week.  The first part of the week, the guys played golf several times and went to Cleveland to see the Cardinals play.

We also saw the boys play some baseball games.  Here we are watching Benjamin's game.  It was a little chilly, as you can guess from our attire!

Benjamin had field day at school while they were visiting.  The above picture is the 50-yard dash.  The girl running beat everyone in the class!  Below was the longer race.

Here's the standing long jump.

Taken on the school playground.

Benjamin won 1st place in the frisbee throw, and 3rd place in the standing long jump.

We visited a nearby botanical center.  The boys are pretending to be baby birds in the giant nest!

Jonathan also had a wedding while Grandma and Grandpa were here.  It was so nice to have babysitters while we at the wedding.  We didn't even have to feel bad for staying out late!

Paul's class sang this song to all of their moms at the Mother's Day tea.

T-ball and baseball

We're in the middle of baseball season right now.  This is Paul's first year doing t-ball, and his first time doing any kind of organized sport.  He seems to really like it.  The games are always entertaining to watch, since no one is ever out and they all get to hit every inning!
Rounding third

Sometimes there's some dancing around in the outfield...

Running to third

This is Benjamin's first year of "serious" baseball.  They count outs and runs, and they can strike out when they're up to bat.  They still rotate the players in the field.  Benjamin is typically infield somewhere, and does a great job fielding, throwing, and catching the ball.

He usually gets on base when he hits, but there have been a couple strike outs, I think because of nerves.
