Grandpa and Grandma's Visit

Grandpa and Grandma paid us a visit last week, over their spring break. We had a great time!

This was Benjamin's birthday gift from Grandpa and Grandma, a John Deere pedal tractor. He is absolutely in love with it!

This is where the steering wheel goes.

Playing volleyball with Grandpa--Aunt Rachel would be proud!

Listening to Grandma tell another Phoebe and Daisy story

Martha's Vineyard

While my parents were visiting, we spent a night on Martha's Vineyard. It was beautiful and not crowded, but a little chilly!

The ferry ride over from Cape Cod was a bit cold. Maybe there was a reason no one else was outside...

A gorgeous sunrise. We had a great view from our hotel room.

Who says digging in the sand is just for warm weather?!

Rainy Day

It was a rainy day today, and Benjamin's mood was going downhill, so I decided to make a tent. I'm not exactly sure what Benjamin had in his mind when I said "tent." (We've never made one before.) I started building what you see above, and next thing I know, Benjamin had climbed onto the loveseat. Instead of getting IN the tent, I guess he thought we'd be getting ON the tent. Before I had a chance to say anything, Benjamin had jumped, belly-flop style, on to the top of the tent. Needless to say, he landed, crying, in a heap on the floor. He wasn't hurt at all, but he made such a funny picture, flying through the air, completely trusting the quilt to hold him up! I couldn't help but laugh.

Now I see how this tent thing works!

Inside the tent with Mommy--so much fun!

Announcement

Yep, we're expecting again! Benjamin will officially be a big brother sometime around the end of summer. I'm due the first week in September. Everything with the pregnancy has been going fine so far. I've almost made it to the second trimester, so we'll see if my energy level picks up again, like they say it's supposed to! (Although, running after a toddler can zap anyone's energy.)

Just for Uncle David

Hey, at least the bat is Cardinals!

Singing?

Yes, this is how Benjamin sings. He enjoys joining in all of the hymns in church. Everyone in church turns around to smile at him. He sits there, and has to hold a hymnal or bulletin while he's singing.

Happy 2nd Birthday!

The squinting is Benjamin's new way of "smiling" for the camera.

The tool bench was definitely a hit!

"How old are you?"
"Two in February!"

Got it out on the first try!
